Having a custom backend would make writing and, more importantly, autogenerating rockspecs much easier as we can just reuse all the code for build and make sure to install the files to the correct place.

Additionally, autogeneration would barely be necessary, since we would only need tlconfig.lua to build the project and know where all the files are.
