I have YAML headers at the top of markdown files, such as:

---  
created: 2021-06-25 17:21:31  
modified: 2021-06-28  
bibliography: /home/my/library.bib  
csl: /home/my/citation-style.csl  
---

With Markless both --- cause rendering issues.

The top one is shown as hr and also "crops" the first 3 letters of the first line "created: .."

The bottom one is interpreted as heading so the whole YAML block is in a large font-size
