The README.md probably needs to be updated as a whole, but this issue report is specifically for the "Adding support for new games" section:

  • The Twitch stream VOD linked does not exist anymore. I'm guessing it showed how to do the setup, so a new up-to-date tutorial should be recorded for Youtube or as a Twitch stream VOD again.
  • The steps are specifically for Windows based arcade games, not for ones that run on Linux. How are they handled, what's the setup for working on those? (e.g. Outrun 2SP is one build for Linux (MontaVista)).
  • Are the steps still accurate? The README.md was last updated 5 years ago, so is this still the way we do this in 2024? Should be evaluated again.

That's it! Thanks in advance if this gets picked up. 😄

Linux based games run in elfldr & elfldr2 (budgieloader) and that software is a closed source component of TP. Other than the twitch stream no longer being available, these instructions are still valid for adding games to Openparrot.

Ok, gotcha! Thanks for the reply! 👍🏻 Out of curiosity, how come the budgieloader part of TP specifically is closed source?

I could be wrong but from my understanding, it's because the TP devs are the only ones to really write a linux game loader for windows that works properly. That's why you see other loaders for windows based games, and there really aren't any for linux based games other than TP.
