Installation confusion #6

OpenMicrowave is a bit different then this branch but I would be happy to help you get it set up. to start, where are your "morrowind.ini" and "data files" folder located? They should be located inside the same folder, for me it's in a folder on the SD card called "Required_Files". When selecting the location is it exactly the same spelling? Also there was an old bug where you couldn't have spaces in the folder names (any of them) although this may have been fixed in future releases. |
It's all in a folder on my internal storage labeled Morrowind, thats where my ini and my data files are located. So I just drop the whole download from here into my morrowind folder? |
If you have a discord or something we could communicate on there and it'd probably be easier, besides I'm looking for more friends to play with on MW. |
Well im not online that often although i do have the discord account red#9475 Feel free to add me although it sounds like you didnt actually install the APK. you ever install on before? feel free to message me. |
If it's not OpenMicrowave then I havent. I didn't realize there was something else I needed. I've never installed an apk outside of the play store so I'm pretty lost. Lol |
That's alright, do you have the game downloaded on your computer? there is only 2 things you will need to copy over to get it to work. If not Bethesda should still be giving the game away for free on their site. You cant just snag it up there or buy it through steam (I think) |
I think I'm having the opposite problem. I've got no problem getting vanilla morrowind working in Open Microwave, my only issue is getting this multiplayer fork installed. |
OH! then in that case the APK file found here: https://github.com/terabyte25/tes3mp-android/releases/download/9%2F18%2F19/app-debug.apk (For anyone reading this in the future, this will likely be an out dated build, if you're not familiar with github, you would go to the top of this page, click the projects name, in this case tes3mp-android, when it takes you to the main page you can click on releases near the top above the files. there should be all you'll need.) You just copy that onto your phone, you go to your settings and somewhere in settings is a allow "Unknown Sources" toggle. Mine is in the personal tab, inside the lock and security, my last phone it was under advanced options and my old tablet it was under device settings. So somewhere in there you would turn that on. When you are allowing unknown sources, you can install the apk just by clicking on it with your files manager, or under your chrome downloads list. how ever you get to it should work fine. then it'll be the same set up for the TES3MP, as it was for OpenMW. should be able to use the same folders and saves even. not sure though. |
oh and if you cant find the unknown sources toggle, I believe some of the newer android OS will take you right to it if you try to install an apk with out having it on although im not to sure. |
Awesome! That link worked and it works as well as Tes3Mp on PC! I can't wait to get that server set up! |
Thank you so much for all the help! |
Hey let me know what the server link is before this is closed. You can get ahold of me better on discord, |
My discord is Red Dead Kaczynski#4548 |
I never got one, but I sent you one. If you have a powerful enough phone, or android device you may be able to find a way to run the linux server. |
I definitely don't have one powerful enough. I'll probably just pay for one
to be up 24/7. Saves me some hassle with my phone especially since I'm
going to be doing a lot of stuff with it.

This is likely a shortcoming on my part but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get things rolling. I have OpenMicrowave installed, I have the morrowind base files on backup, but I can't figure out where to put things together and how. I read the setup in the readme but it might as well be in greek for me. Sorry for the trouble.
