Math/Sums on an Object Custom Property

Is it possible to assign properties to objects , for example : Optional/Mandatory, and Cost, then produce from a d2 file the sum of the Cost of Mandatory items and Total? Or, since it's simple text would that be better parsed in a spreadsheet? Or, rather, the d2 file produced from the spreadsheet?

Thinking here of a diagram for a software process like building and maintaining a website.
