There seems to be no solution from MathJax.

We could just check concats with math followed by punctuation and bring it inside the math. This should probably be configurable behaviour.

What happens in TeXmacs->HTML exporter?

The same. This is "Copy to HTML" with MathJax on:

Some inline math with a punctuation sign after it: \(f (x) = x^2\).

In HTML it might be easier to solve though. One could add a span around mathjax code immediately followed by a punctuation sign adding white-space: nowrap; to its style.
