I'm kind of a novice at this, but wanted to check out the theme for a small project I had in mind. When I finished the installation and tried to login at yourdomain.com/wp-svbtle, I got redirected to 1&1 with an affiliate link.

It's because "yourdomain.com" is owned by either 1&1 or someone pointing it at 1&1

You need to replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name that you're using.
