Ability to run browser extensions?

So it seems our IT dept. have now implemented tighter security and require a chrome extension - Endpoint Verification. In google Chrome the verification sync is done automatically. I've tried to use a custom user agent but still keep getting the same error.

So i'm wondering if it's possible to allow browser extensions to run within Gmail Desktop since it's a browser itself? I'm still not sure if that would resolve the issue but it's just a thought.
