Occasionally lost highlighting

Love this plug in. Thanks.
But just noticed sometimes the highlighting bkground color get lost. My IDEA uses vertical tabs on the right hand side, which might be part of the problem?
Sorry haven't figured out a repeatable pattern to effectively reproduce the issue.

P.S.
Clicking in current editor or on current tab will not bring highlighting back.
However the highlighting will come back when I click on another tab, or when I switch to another tab using Ctrl + Tab.

Upgraded to PHPStorm 2023.2 and the highlighting consistently disappears after a second :( . Happens on vertical and horizontal tabs. It was disappearing occasionally on the previous version of PHPStorm like jackliuau mentioned but this version it's happening all the time.

It seems that 2023.2 allows you to change the background of the active tab (new UI) so the plugin is no longer necessary.
Settings -> Editor -> Color Scheme -> General -> Selected Tab

To be exact it's:
Settings -> Editor -> Color Scheme -> General -> Tabs -> Selected Tab

... or just search for "Selected Tab". Finally!
