2nd format for box score

Could there be a format for the box score1 that places the teams one under the other. if the terminal pane isn't wide enough a format that shows the team results stacked vertically instead of horizontally is needed.

It can certainly be done. I actually do that for my reddit game thread bots (here is the template that does both wide and stacked formats). I don't know when I'll have time to add it, but I'll keep this ticket open for it.
