I am using your cool thesis template to write mine, but I must be missing something, as all the figures appear just at the end of the document.
As you can see here, I am just using the image .md syntax to add a .png image (after the 4th paragraph). This syntax is the same you use to add a figure. However, although it renders, the image doesn't appear where I placed it but at the end of the file. This is happening for all the image files, as you can see here.
Aside from using a bash script instead of a Makefile, everything else is the same. Where am I failing? Is it the syntax or the pandoc script?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @espetro. I'm pretty swamped at the moment, so not sure when I'll be able to look at this properly, but hopefully we can work out the problem between us. If you clone the original repository, does the PDF at https://github.com/tompollard/phd_thesis_markdown/blob/master/output/thesis.pdf build as expected, or do the images also appear at the end of the file?
