usedevelop option does not use -e option anymore, "Editable install will be performed using a meta path finder". Should we update the documentation, or am I misinterpreting something? Can I ask what the reason behind this design? Is there any way to use -e instead?

Editable installations were in past a pip implementation detail, however in the meantime has been standardised into https://peps.python.org/pep-0660/ which we follow now.
