Issues with lyrics embed

I'm total noob with id3 tags and how lyrics are stored, but is there a reason why synced lyrics embedded with the app, don't show timestamps when viewing with foobar2000 and mp3tag? Timestamps do show up in musicbee, but when I do some edits, the tag disappears altogether from foobar200 and mp3tag while still showing in musicbee. When I used the embed script, it works fine (although I would prefer it save synced lyrics as [LYRICS]).
