On recent versions of TrueOS Edge, applications using OpenJFX8 can't properly display text. Numbers work, but not text. The application I'm using is SportsTracker (not from ports), and I haven't updated its jars for about 1.5 years. The problem was introduced by a TrueOS upgrade sometime between 3-March-2018 and now.

The problem is not specific to SportsTracker; I've reproduced it with all the OpenJFX demo applications. However, I cannot reproduce it on FreeBSD 12. This seems to be a TrueOS-specific bug. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=227701
