Hi all,

@angerelle @neilmanuell @tam203 @mnem @redannick and myself were the only people confirmed as of this week... and unfortunately Robin now isn't able to make it due to work piling on.

I don't think it's possible to go ahead with just 5 of us - though I'm not totally fixed on that.

Does anyone else think they're going to be attending? @tschneidereit confirmed that he couldn't make it, but I know a few of you couldn't decide until the last minute.

Angela, Neil, Theo, Dave - what do you want to do, assuming that we're just 5 of us? The Met Office haven't paid yet so that's no problem, so I just need to refund Neil and Dave if we cancel - I don't have any costs at the moment as such as the house and cottages were happy for me to book it last minute if/when we had final numbers.

Obviously the broken-leg logistics are also slightly more complicated, but not particularly problematic.

Thinks? (Like thoughts but less formed)

Stray

Sorry about this guys, I really wanted to come and learn and see you all again, but I just have a ton on, with immovable deadlines. It's a good problem to have I guess, but I really didn't want to jeopardise the whole thing!

Hmm, I must admit that it would be easier for me if we didn't go ahead, I
also have a load of deadlines coming up and I'm away at the moment so
feeling that I'm taking the piss a bit at home. Could we reschedule for
early next year, still out of season, (and when Stray's broken bones have
mended!)? I would love to get together with everyone, but I'm also aware
that I'm getting further away from coding :-(

Hi all I'm torn. I was/am so excited about it but also haven't prepped my talk yet and also have manage to organise a large work conference for the same week. I think this puts me in the abstaining from voting category but if it does go ahead I'll definitely be there.

I'd be happy to second @angerelle suggestion

I would also be happy with rescheduling, however the fragile nature of freelancing means that I could end up in the same position again.

I'm happy to postpone it (or turn up). I have deadlines in October too, but realistically, being in a 2 person company there's pretty much no month that won't be the case :)

Counting broken bones (have you been sneaking in some extreme sports Stray?) and all the deadlines, perhaps re-scheduling would be the most sensible thing?

Or we could just come and visit for a holiday :)

Sadly no excitement - I just stepped off of my front door step slightly awkwardly and my fibula snapped :/ Coming up for 3 weeks now - I've got another 2 weeks of non-weight-bearing and then 2 weeks more in the cast but able to put a little bit of weight on it... then 2 weeks or so on crutches after the cast comes off. ANNOYANCE++.

So - it sounds like it's not a bad time to reschedule... I'll give it a week or two and then we can start to talk dates? If we can get the website sorted this time then we can open it up to new folks too as so many maybes didn't pan out - if we've got 12 or more booked in then if a couple of us find last minute problems block us from attending then it won't matter so much.

Thanks for all being so lovely and flexible!

@mnem we have spare rooms now boy is heading off to uni... come for a holiday any time!
