I found wesher by @costela, @kaiyou and contributors the other day. We should definitively have a look at this excellent tool before reinventing this wheel.

hey, thanks for the heads-up! It looks like tunfish is a fresh project. Is there any place I could get a more precise overview of its goals? The READMEs I could find seem a bit "vague" currently. Did I miss something?

I'd love to get some help developing wesher! It would be great if the two projects turned out to have shared goals!
(I am, for instance, more than willing to move it to group-maintainership, if someone shows enough commitment)
