Not keeping the \\ after reedit.

I've recently discovered that ckgedit for some reason doesn't keep \. The effect will appear when I save, but if I edit it again, they are gone and the effect isn't there anymore. Is there a way to force it to keep it, or some kind of alternative code it will keep, or something of that nature?
