This release ensures compatibility with Mastodon 3 and improves translations, performance and stability.

• the deprecated /api/v1/search endpoint will no longer be used
• videos will now always have the correct aspect ratio while playing
• filter rules will now also affect polls

Tusky 9.0

• You can now create Polls from Tusky
• New search that implements the Mastodon search v2 endpoint and can display infinite results
• New option in Account Preferences to always expand content warnings
• Avatars in the navigation drawer have now a rounded square shape like everywhere else in the app
• It is now possible to report users even when they never posted a status (e.g. for spam in profile descriptions)
• Added support for the max_bio_chars instance property so you can enter longer profile descriptions on instances that provide it
• Tusky will now refuse to connect over cleartext connections on Android 6+ (was 9+)
• Sensitive media previews will now only be loaded when revealed in order to save bandwith
• A lot of other small improvements and bug fixes

This will be the last release that will be distributed via Amazon Appstore. If you use Amazon Appstore, please consider switching to F-Droid.

• Fixed bug that caused statuses showing as boosted/faved when they actually were not, and polls being attached to the wrong statuses

• The reporting process has been redesigned and now supports forwarding reports to remote instances
• GIF avatars can now be animated. Go to the preferences to enable it.
• The custom emoji fonts have been updated and a new one added. Redownload them in the preferences to get support for new emojis!
• The filter UI now also supports the "whole word" setting known from Web Mastodon
• Polls with more than 4 options are now shown correctly
• When the "Download media previews" setting is disabled, media descriptions are now shown directly in the timeline
• new Bengali translation
• A lot of small improvements, bug fixes and translation updates
