How can I add footnote to an author in the charged-ieee template?

I found a temp solution, you can put them before the intro:

#place(
  left + bottom,
  dx: 10pt,
  float: true,
  scope: "parent",
  text(size: 8pt, super[\*] + "Corresponding author"),
)

and then manully add * after Corresponding author
