I'm from the Dorado team at ONT. We recently had an issue filed in Dorado which asked for the MacOS binary to be hosted on hcc's condo channel - nanoporetech/dorado#713
While we occasionally built conda packages for osx, our primary focus is building linux conda packages that are needed for software running on our HPC cluster.
We do have OSX conda build machine; however, this is an older machine with Intel chips.
In my understand, dorado doesn't work on Intel-based machine, but only on newer ones with more recent Apple chips, thus the doradoosx build is not available via our channel.
A few members of our team are contributors to bioconda, https://bioconda.github.io/index.html, and bioconda does support variety of osx and linux platforms.
We can look into the possibility of porting our conda recipe to bioconda; however that would depend on the free time our staff has.
In the meantime, if you or your team would like to add dorado to bioconda, and make it available for both osx and linux platforms, you are more than welcome to do that yourselves.
Hello,
I'm from the Dorado team at ONT. We recently had an issue filed in Dorado which asked for the MacOS binary to be hosted on hcc's condo channel - nanoporetech/dorado#713
I wanted to bring this to your attention since Dorado supports multiple platforms. The pre-built binaries are all available here - https://github.com/nanoporetech/dorado?tab=readme-ov-file#installation
Thank you!
