Question: how to implement action to respond to comments? #57
Comments
I am glad spamming you with my request for help gave you an idea, I feel less bad 😉 |
You are kind, and helpful, you should not feel bad. There are plenty of folks out there that are not kind, and that is what makes a dinosaur sad. For your pings, it is my pleasure to help :) |
This is a great idea, I love it! broken links issues are quite frequent so this is Genius ;) @maelle you helped push& improve things so that is great help at these weird times where slacking and depression can be looming in the corner. Gotta keep the dinosaur happy :P |
I saw this whilst looking for something else https://github.com/JuliaCI/Nanosoldier.jl |
oh that's wicked @maelle ! I should make something like that for our cluster, and especially beautiful is how it uploads results to a repo (for metrics). And yes, that's spot on the idea about commenting in a comment. But what would be the context for the check? For example, why would I comment in an issue, or PR - what links would I want to check? |
Good questions. Although in a PR, you'd check changed files so that part is easy. Now as to why, I'm not sure! |
This is just a random idea I thought would be cool - we could have an action that responds to issue comments, and looks for a particular string (like @urlchecker-action check) and then it could do some special check for a url.
Definitely not priority - but would be fun to figure out how to do!
