swarm heap size in java

hello all...
my PC has 12 gig of installed ram...some time ago,when looking at heap size in the console (win 10) i used to have 7-8 g of memory labeled as heap size... and swarm was running well

now, i only have 2731gig and swarn often halt/freezes

is there a way to fix that ?

Ive tried fix it via java console by inputting -Xmx8000m then save the new settings but still at 2731 gig of memory

please help
