If VirtFS uses virtio to access files shared from the host via virtiofsd-rs, could that allow guests to get access to files that other host apps using virtiofsd-rs share?
I'm thinking about using Rancher Desktop on the host, to manage my docker instances that run in Qemu, and export their filesystems via virtio (the samw Qemu settings UTM uses for VirtFS).
UTM runs my Linux desktop, from there I'd like to be able to use docker on the host, including those file systems.
The bit where I was thinking this might fall down, is who is in charge of running virtiofsd-rs, I guess both UTM and Rancher will want to - or is there a chance this would "just work".
