Describe the issue
Earlier I issued #6459 about crashing Firefox in a Ubuntu x64 VM.
Maybe that others have had similar issues and probably it has to do with the graphics / display driver. UTM offers a lot of display options of which I tried a few:
virtio-vga-gl (GPU Supported), virtio-gpu-pci, virtio-ramfb, but all resulting in crash of Firefox browser and Vivaldi browser. I used Ubuntu Lite XFCE 24.04 and Ubuntu LTS 24.04 and UBUNTU XFCE LTS 22.04.
Other apps works well in Ubuntu, just slower which is to be expected. I have enabled multi core (8 cores).
See also my issue #6459.

Configuration

  • UTM Version: 4.5.3
  • macOS Version: 14.5
  • Mac Chip M1
