Should consider abandoning coffeescript and rather go for ES2015 (using babel.js to transpile to ES5 until browsersupport for ES2015 is widespread)

why:

ES2015 is the new version of javascript, and the new industry-standard
Coffeescript is rapidly loosing developers, and marketshare
Should make it easier for new developers to take part in the project
ES2015 support for coffeescript might take a while..
