I saw that some gxm samples were added in 2017, but they're gone in the latest commits. What happened to them? GPU rendering is the only kind of rendering that I really want to use in my own homebrew projects.

They were gone like 6 years ago.
Use https://github.com/xerpi/gxmfun

this is what i was using but i was imagining there'd be a more simple gxm example but i can't find any because they were removed from here

The "simplest" gxm example is vita2d. Or SDL2 gxm renderer.
The whole gxm setup with shader-patcher and all is quite big, there's nothing "simple"

maybe it's because i'm used to sceGu and am now learning sceGxm, it must've gotten much more complicated
