plots in the command-line version

if we use the command-line invocation, plot(1) does nothing on my system. is
there a workaround? or must one use Rstudio for graphics?

The solution seems to be documented here - if you have a chance to test them before me, I'll implement in the shell script here. Some of these solutions seem platform-specific as they require running a local X11 server. http://wiki.ros.org/docker/Tutorials/GUI
