I was wondering whether there are any plans for a major future update release (v4)?

Sorry for the delay @mhmism - yes we are planning for a bioBakery 4 update. We are currently waiting for the release of HUMAnN 4 so that we can re-process everything through both MetaPhlAn 4 and HUMAnN 4. Pinging @seandavi who is preparing to run the new pipeline just so he knows there's user interest :)
