Fails to run on macOS 15 #691

Thanks. B will be called "Electron" when in dev mode (npm start). Are you an Electron dev? I've found that I need to delete other Electron projects' build artefacts before running B otherwise it's that Electron window that gets opened, not B's picker. |
Thanks Will not running any other electron apps (from dev) - and dont think ive ever run one on this machine |
Something to take into consideration, from looking at your screenshot: you are running a very old version of node. Try upgrading to v20. |
Crash log:
|
Looks similar to this electron/electron#12002, maybe something changed in memory allocation. May try later to figure out a little bit more, but i unable to reproduce crash unfortunately |
💎 McPizza0 is offering a $25 bounty for this issue |
@will-stone happy to use GH sponsors if you fix this |
@McPizza0 First of all: thank you 😄 However, it's not really considered great Open Source etiquette to say "if you do this I will...". And as for money, check out this article, bullet 10 in particular. |
@will-stone thanks for the link, i appreciate and respect that the bounty isnt a "if you do this then ill do that" (sorry it came out that way) as a creator of OS, consumer of mostly OS apps/tooling, and an OS contributor - i know its often hard to know the value of issues, how they're affecting people and the complexity to fix The bounty is more for "this issue really affects me, I would fix it if I knew how. I realize it may be low priority to everyone but me, so I'm hoping that someone with the knowledge would be tempted to fix it for a reward - both as thanks and appreciation" p.s. happy to remove it if you still feel the same |
I'm happy for you to leave it if someone else wants it, but I don't upgrade to beta OSs any more (I'm not as young and reckless as I used to be 😅). |
Ooo, nice. Yeah dev mode is weird: it asks you to set "Electron" as the default, nothing indicates the change has happened in OS settings, and it sometimes picks a different instance of Electron app 🤷 But it should work (in non-beta OSs 😝). |
I discovered something too, but still have no idea wth is going on. I packaged app from source and it launched without any problem, then i downloaded packaged app from Releases tab and it crashed at startup. I even tried resigning for debug but stack trace leads somewhere in Electron (as i though earlier looks like they using some resource after release)
( @McPizza0 i think you could try to package app and check if it works for you CI=true npm run package # to package unsinged app Packaged app will be in |
@AlexStrNik Works perfectly 🚀 Thank you! |
This is not a request for a fix (aware that only supported on latest stable)
