Turning off output to the grid?

Hi.

Big thanks for creating this integration, i love having my solar in HA!

I live in Denmark, where the sales price of electricity can sometime be negative, so it's costing me money to send power to the grid.
I've written with Huawei support, and they say it's possible to turn off the power to the grid via the modbus. See attached pdf.

Can this be done using this integration?
Its called "Zero Export Limitation"

I want an automation that turns this on, when the sales price is negative, and back on when it's positive :)

I did a bit of digging into this myself this evening. I was looking to see if I could add this control to the integration by doing something similar to defining a custom sensor. In scrolling through the different files I discovered that this is already part of the integration!

I saw this in services.yaml

And sure enough there they are in HA>Devtools>Services:

(which I had no idea were even there! Turns out though, it's already in the wiki)

So I tested a couple of the services - it takes a minute to update and show within the FusionSolar portal, but it works:

Anyway, whilst it's not actually changing Active Power Control Mode to 'Zero Export Limitation', using the above service to set Max. grid feed-in power to zero is functionally the same thing. So you (and I!) can just call that service with whatever parameters in an automation.

This looks perfect!
I don't have those services though? i'm guessing i need to elevate the permissions.
How do i do that, when i already have it configured without the elevated permissions?

EDIT:
I removed the integration and added it again, and now i can have the elevated permission added.
And i now have the same options as you've shown. and it works fine. I can see it draws a bit of power from the grid when we set the output to zero, but that's a cheaper option than paying for the massive amount of power sent to the grid when the price is negative.

any idea why when I set set_maximum_feed_grid_power_percent the Active power is 1-4W?

Have you looked at using the following, that is the service that resets the inverter (of whatever size you have, so no need for declaring xxx watts) back to full export capacity ?

Ah OK, seeing 3680W I was assuming you have a SUN2000-3.68KTL-L1, where that would be 100% capacity of the inverter.

Understandable, but nope, I've got a 6KTL-L1, but the DNO has us limit export to 3680W. Doesn't bother me, we get next to nothing per kWh exported anyway!

Today I will add energy meter to my inverter, so to have maximum_feed_greed entities I need to remove and add integration again or they should appear after integration restart?

@Roving-Ronin What you mean by "Don't forget to add it to your "Plant" in Huawei's FusionSolar portal"? Today meter was connected to inventer and after inverter restart it was automaticaly detected and values for autoconsumpton is now visible in FusinSolar portal.

After restarting huawei_solar addon meter is now visible in integration as a secondary device.

But unfortunetly in services nothing related with Huawei.

Maybe I have to reintegrate huawei_solar addon.

@Jordan87 OK so in other words it auto detected and added. Sometime the gear requests serial numbers to add them to a plant.

No that is how it appears in Home Assistant / WLCRS integration. For example here is a site with 2 x inverters, 1 x LUNA Battery and a Power Meter in HA.

Note: This is v1.4.0a3 of WLCRS, that adds the 'Batteries' (plural) device that provides the total values for 'all' batteries (be it 1, 2 or 3 installed per inverter), removing the need to write custom sensors in yaml to provide the sum totals for the individual batteries sensors.

Edit: Inverter name is by defaullt just 'Inverter', when there are multiple inverters. The Inverter 1 / 2 etc was manually added (with No then selected for the option to rename the sensor names for them).

Do I need to have elevated permissions?

In my case default login and password to installer account is not working, probably was changed.

If yes then I have to contact company which made my installation. I hope they will change it or share current login and password.

To get the Huawei Services, yes I believe you do need the Installer login / Advanced permissions.

Inverter was reintegrated to addon with elevated permisions and now everything seems to work ;)
