Hi! I am interested in how much CPU power and RAM rtl-wmbus requires for operation. Has anyone ever measured those?
If not, I guess I could get into it and post the results.
For months I've been using an older (yet quite powerful, i7 based) laptop to log my water / energy consumption but I know this is a waste of energy and resources. Since Raspberry-Pi's have recently become quite expensive I started looking for a cheaper solution (also, possibly without the unnecessary devices onboard - after all only CPU + RAM + net + a bit of mass storage are needed to do the job; audio/video sub-systems are unnecessary).
I envision the whole system to consist of several cheap boards processing RF and forwarding data (possibly from the output of wmbusmeters) over Wi-Fi and then a central processing unit to gather everything and store in some flavour of a HA solution with a DB for archiving purposes.
Hope this makes sense.
