High memory usage within the frontend

I have recorded very high memory usage by the frontend, especially when the page is loading or it get's stuck. This is an issue mainly when developing locally and may not be evident in the deployed OpenShift stack.

The chrome instance at the top, in the image, is running the frontend, it kept on increasing in memory usage as the page was frozen. I am not sure if this is due to the recent changes to the frontend or not.

Just an update to this issue. The frontend seems to be faster to run on the new Microsoft Edge browser than it is on Chrome. This may not be a major issue but just an small problem that I have noticed when using on Chrome where the page may hang/freeze when using the frontend.
