Hi Shawn,

I get this warning with the new released version at startup (cmd - not tested in any Gui yet).

WARNING: Using incubator modules: jdk.incubator.vector

I guess it can be just neglected, but thought it should be mentioned at least?

Guenther (rwbc)

P.S. BTW it still shows no version number ;)

The warning is harmless and expected. I updated the release notes to reflect this change. About the version number, is it customary to include these in the uci output? I'm not exactly into engine testing so I'm don't know what the benefits are.

Well, the first benefit is, you can easily see from startup which of various versions you have running ;)

The second one for testers (I don't consider myself one BTW), probably is that some might have set it up to write
the name directly from uci id into the pgn.

But point 1 should be obvious. Just imagine an engine with dozens of releases but none of them tells what it is.
You might mix versions easily and need permanently check it (by size date sha whatever), once it was wrongly labelled, or by other circumstances...
