How should I be avoiding something like

with https://s.natalian.org/2021-08-10/scalable-prom.svg in the page? Set the background of the image?

Did you try by setting a background to the image that would apply in white and dark mode?

A similar issue was fixed in API Platform by using a SVG that define a white background.
