When I went looking for the Git Source Control Provider plugin in Visual Studio 2015, it was not clear at all that you made a plugin called Git Tools that is intended to be the upgrade path from this one. Instead, I found Git Source Control Provider 2015, which is being maintained by another author.

This is very confusing. It would be helpful if you would put a link on the Git Source Control Provider page indicating the correct upgrade path for this plugin.

I have opened an issue on that repo to discuss combining the efforts there with yours, since having 1 good provider would be much better than having 2 buggy ones with diverging source code. One of the issues that came up was that your Git Tools project is not very active, and I have a feeling that if you just had a note and link to the upgrade location that would be a different story.
