Thank you for hass-node-red, it has some really cool functionality. I'm trying to use the number function in a flow which changes the volume of a multizone amplifier. I have it configured as a slider 0 - 100 in steps of 1. If the mode is configured as "Set Value", the value is successfully passed through from input to output. Is there away for it to do both, I have been using the Node Red Web Dashboard slider successfully for quite some time. Thank you, |

Hello zachowj, I like to use this node for setting a time for activating a pump for a specific time. is there a possibility to set the time by slider and sent that value to the output by triggering the input with a "true" value? KR |

To have slider show up on Home Assistant side, you will want to set the mode in the entity config to slider. For the trigger/output combo, several nodes would be needed. Option 1: would be to use a current state node to get the current value of the number entity

I added a get mode to version 0.54.0. You can now use the number/select/text nodes to get the current value.

Oh man, after a couple of hours hacking in the ZoneTouch 3 protocol stuff into that, it seems to work very well! I'm also trying to add an INJECT node to delete the created entities (mostly for testing etc)... Strangely though, the entities autocreated are named like However, something is weird with either

facepalm Of course. I wanted to try a cleanup to remove everything so I can test it again with creation on-the-fly and tweak if needed. Javascript is not my strong point - so I'm not used to doing overload operators to do things! I'm the old guy that still swears by perl - and I find that my most common screwup is using the wrong language syntax that just happens to be valid in a different language, but doesn't work as expected 😆 Thanks for all your help on this.... I know I'm only discovering the edges of what you can probably do with HA and NodeRed - and as I've been discovering, the community is great at helping out! I greatly appreciate it. |

You would only get an unknown command if you sent the message before the NR component was loaded in HA. The properties to set certain attributes can be found here |

I'm looking to have a bidirectional binding between a number entity in HA and a number in a Socket.io server. For the switch entity this is quite simple, as it has an input and output: For the number however, I use two separate entities as you mentioned. Reading the Socket.io value and setting the number entity works. Listening to the state of the entity and writing to Socket.io works too. But when I connect them both, the number gets into a loop, flipping between two values. I find it hard to wrap my head around the concurrency issue I'm running into, any hints on how to implement a two-way (push) binding correctly on a number entity?

Hello, first of all thanks for this addon ! I'm using this "number" node as a slider in a HA dashboard to dynamically change the threshold of an automation based on temperatures : would it be possible to set a "step" which is a decimal (eg 0.5 for instance ?) Is there any other means (directly in HA ?) to achieve this ? |

My bad : it works ! I updated the step value (from empty to 0,5) in nodered and it successfully updated in HA (without restarts). |
