We had made this suggestion to the Panotes group concerning the animation option on snapshot-safari back in 2020 and really had not received any word if this could be incorporated in the platform.
This is the original suggestion at zooniverse/Panoptes-Front-End#5782 as made by one of the researchers:
_For camera trap projects, specifically WildCam Gorongosa, there is an option to animate a loop between multiple images in a sequence. We would prefer this to be the default presentation (the animation could be shown 2-3 times upon first appearance), as many users are unaware that this option exists, and end up only looking at the first image in the sequence and making classifications based on this image, which biases our data.
At the least, it would be helpful to move the animation button to the right side of the image closer to the species selection pane, as now you have to move the mouse all the way to the left of the screen to turn on the animation, or have a keyboard shortcut for playing the animation._
Penoptes-front-end is only doing bug fixes and indicated that monorepo is handling all new features. We are wondering if features are sill being made to panoptes and if so could something like this can be implemented.
