earworms

This program is designed to send catchy lyrics in an attempt to get songs stuck in the recipient's head.

This script chooses a random song from a predefined library of earworms. Once the song is chosen, the link to the song's lyrics page on Genius is gathered. This link is then shortened using Bitly, and finally the earworm and the shortened link are combined into a single message which is then sent over SMS via a Twilio client.

Configuration

This program uses several environment variables to store data for the various services used (such as API keys and auth tokens). These variables must be set before executing the program.

• BITLY_TOKEN - Bitly access token
• TWILIO_NUMBER - Twilio phone number (number messages will be sent from)
• TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID - Twilio account SID (used to exercise the REST API)
• TWILIO_AUTH_TOKEN - Twilio auth token
• GENIUS_TOKEN - Genius access token
• RECIPIENT - Phone number for desired recipient
