Sephpa project is not meant to teach you SEPA. If you want to learn more about SEPA or SEPA files, you should ask your bank for help. You use this library at your own risk and I assume no liability if anything goes wrong. You are supposed to check the files before handing them to your bank.

Below are some useful links to still get some insight on Payment initiation XML scheme generation process, file versions in use and the standards covering them.

ISO 20022

ISO 20022 is a multi part International Standard prepared by ISO Technical Committee TC68 Financial Services. It describes a common platform for the development of messages. It covers the standards behind XML schemas.

The standard defines Credit Transfer and Direct Debit Payment Initiation XML message structure and parameters – like pain.001.001.03 and pain.008.001.02 – currently the most used message versions.
