Eufrika is an assotiation focused on independent news from and about Africa for an african-european public.
This is a non-exclusive media partnership. The great people from Eufrika very much support our project and help us with media inquiries, local contacts, Do's & Dont's in the countries that we'll visit. Thanks at Michael & Vicy from Eufrica fro making this happen!
We got invited to re:publica! Among founders of tech hubs all around Africa, including Eric Hersman whose article sparked the idea of the AfricanHackTrip.
So, set the dates: May 6th - 8th, in Berlin.
Anya will give a talk as well. This is the best chance to make contacts before the actual trip: http://www.re-publica.de/en/news/global-innovation-lounge-afrilabs-and-giz-republica
As we now reach out partners and sponsors, we started to transform our website to put the AfricaHackTrip as one in the foreground, and the individuals to the background.
Anya & Michael are now [email protected] :-)
Here's a list of bits we've stumbled upon lately
- some nice tunes from Africa:

We've started a waiting list in our wiki: https://github.com/AfricaHackTrip/africahacktrip.github.com/wiki/Waiting-List
To be realistic, chances are low that we'll be able to take more participants with us this year. But we hope that there will be a successor next year.
- Moving forward with video documentation / treatment
- Starting to set agendas for respective locations
- Creating a concept for the AfricaHackTrip Events, that can be used as blueprint for each location
