Asahi Linux aims to bring you a polished Linux experience on Apple Silicon Macs. We document the hardware, write drivers, and publish the Fedora Asahi Remix distribution.
Our goal is not just to make Linux run on these machines but to polish it to the point where it can be used as a daily OS. Doing this requires a tremendous amount of work, as Apple Silicon is an entirely undocumented platform. You can reference our device support tracker for information on supported models and features, with more details available in our documentation.
Asahi Linux is developed by a thriving community of free and open source software developers, and we welcome contributions.
Porting Linux to Apple Silicon is no small task - certainly not something that can be accomplished only with spare-time hacking. You can financially support the project on GitHub Sponsors and on Open Collective. Funds will be used to support the project by procuring hardware and funding contributors to work on software projects that Asahi Linux depends on as things advance.
