Notifications and Alerts

Alerts: When you have a computer – notably a server – that you expect to be always online, it should also always be checking in with BlueSky. When it doesn’t, there’s clearly something wrong. If you check the Alert box, you’ll get an email from the BlueSky server if the computer ever fails to checkin for longer than 15 minutes. (And another when it comes back online.)

Notifications: If you would like a one-time email when this computer next makes contact, check this box. This is great for a computer that’s offline and you’d simply like to know when it reappears.

In both cases, we will send the email to the address in the Admin section of the Web UI. Otherwise you can enter an alternative address in the email address field that is effective for that computer only. (Helpful if you would like someone else to get that email.)
