Canute installer for Raspberry Pis

pachpict edited this page Apr 18, 2023 · 1 revision

Firstly use a recent version of Raspian (Deb11/Bullseye), then run the following canute-install script from the terminal:

https://brltty.app/archive/Canute/

Then shut the RPi down, plug the Canute in via USB-B, turn on both the Canute and the Pi (doesn't matter if the Pi boots before the Canute catches up).

This script completely reconfigures the Raspian install so now when you log in you do so at the terminal (tty1 I think), have to log in with un:pi/pw:raspberry at which point it will launch a xterm window at 40x9.

Please note this is not suitable for an existing RPi set-up as it will overwrite settings. This is not intended for using the Canute with the RPi desktop.
