ntfy is a true notification service through which push notifications could be sent to browsers/ios/android. Adding this would alleviate the dependency on full-fledge social media apps and keep the process distraction free. The software is open-source and could be self-hosted, otherwise the free-tier could be used which requires no signup making the setup easier than the existing notification services.
