This project is currently ON ICE until i can figure out how to finish college and get a job CarBar is in pre-alpha development and should NOT be used as a final product, nor while operating any other type of vehicle or machinery. The current build is for R&D and testing purposes ONLY. We are not responsible for anything that the end user decides to do while using this app.

CarBar is a Free Open-Source (FOSS) Android application that implements an intuitive way to interact with your phone while operating a motor vehicle (where legal.) Works on Android 8 Oreo and above
At time of writing, CarBar is only a proof of concept. In it's currently released public form it only supports opening 3 apps (Signal, the discontinued ViMusic, and OSMAnd~) with no options to change which apps can be opened. It only uses the system theme and has no current other themes.
- Main activity to show expanded and enlarged notifications
- Option to swap the 3 default apps
- Custom Themes & Material You support
- Integrate with SocialPlayer (Citation needed)
- Long press options for navigation
- Have app read notifications out loud (can be turned off)
- Auto start on specific Bluetooth device connect (can be turned off)
- Possible Dicio or Voice Assistant integration?
