Welcome to the SReD wiki!

What is SReD?

Structural Repetition Detector (SReD - reads as "Shred"!) is an open-source ImageJ and Fiji plugin that leverages GPU acceleration to identify repetitive patterns in microscopy images.

SReD uses custom sampling schemes and correlation metrics to compute Repetition Maps. These maps highlight and quantify the degree of structural repetition present within images, providing valuable insights for image analysis and structural studies.

Key features

  • Unbiased structure detection and quantitative analysis
  • GPU acceleration and pre-calculation of background regions to mitigate computational burden
  • 3D, time and multiscale capabilities
  • Generalisable to all microscopy modalities (it uses image reconstructions!)
