This branch is created to develop a unified API that caters to both aiapy and xrtpy. As part of this effort, XRTpy will be introducing the effective_area() function to the Channel object. More detail to this efforts can be found at the sunpy/sunkit-instruments#98. We aim to enhance the compatibility and functionality.
