A while back I had submitted a patch through the issue tracker (#10199), but never got around to splitting it into multiple pull requests for the different functionality upgrades.
This is the second half of the earlier patch and adds several CMake/CPack files and directives to allow installer packages to be easily created. I have only tests with .deb files on RaspberryPi4+Ubuntu and x86_64+Ubuntu. Arguably it should work for .rpm file too, I think.
