Welcome to Kaetram development wiki! Kaetram takes its roots from the BrowserQuest (BQ) prototype displayed by Mozilla in 2012. The entirety of the code has been rewritten from scratch and optimized for a larger-scale project. Though our assets are still predominantly originating from BQ, our respect also goes out to other BQ expansions such as the Asky team whom have provided us with a much larger list of assets in the form of 2D pixel art.
What was once initially an idea to create a 2D cross-platform MMORPG evolved into a game-engine capable of providing developers and non-developers with the ability to create their own version as they desire and quickly deploy. As of currently, Kaetram is currently being refactored to provide future developers and users with a more stable and straightforward experience when attempting to deploy their own version. This wiki will provide documentation regarding various aspects of the game, as well as explanation for certain design choices. Discussion is encouraged, and we highly suggest joining our Discord server!
