Welcome to the GitHub organization of the Laboratory for Energy Systems Analysis (LEA) at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). LEA is dedicated to advancing the understanding and development of diverse energy technologies, including nuclear, fossil, and renewable energy systems. Our research encompasses analytical studies and systems-level evaluations to promote sustainable energy solutions. Learn more about LEA.
LEA operates as an interdivisional laboratory within PSI's Nuclear Energy and Safety Research Division (NES) and the General Energy Research Division (ENE). Our team conducts comprehensive analyses of various energy technologies, focusing on their integration and impact within broader energy systems.
Our key research areas include:
-
Energy Systems Modeling:
Developing models to simulate and optimize energy systems, facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources and enhancing overall efficiency. -
Technology Assessment:
Evaluating the performance, sustainability, and economic viability of emerging energy technologies to inform policy and investment decisions. -
Environmental Impact Analysis:
Assessing the environmental implications of energy production and consumption, aiming to minimize adverse effects and promote sustainable practices.
We engage in a variety of projects that address critical challenges in energy systems analysis. Our work often involves collaboration with academic institutions, industry partners, and governmental agencies to ensure practical applicability and societal relevance.
We welcome collaboration and encourage contributions from researchers, practitioners, and students interested in energy systems analysis. If you're interested in collaborating or have questions about our work, please contact us.
